Three individuals who had been kidnapped met a tragic end while trying to escape from their abductors in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, shared this distressing information in a statement to the press on January 4, 2023. Senator Karimi urged the State Commissioner of Police, Bertrand Onuoha, and the Director of the State Security Services to promptly address the escalating insecurity in Isanlu, Yagba East LGA. In the statement titled “Address the Security Situation in Isanlu and Neighbouring Communities,” Senator Karimi revealed that “more than 6 different people have been kidnapped in the last 48 hours.”
He added, “Three people also lost their lives in Idofin and Isanlu in an attempt to escape from the kidnappers’ den.”
While acknowledging the State Governor’s efforts in ensuring the safety of lives and properties, Senator Karimi implored the Police Commissioner and the DG SSS to take decisive action in curtailing the increasing incidents of kidnapping in Isanlu, Yagba East LGA.
