The Grammy Awards have announced that Trevor Noah will return to host the ceremony for a fifth consecutive year.
Noah will become the first comedian to host the show five times. The only other individuals to have hosted five or more Grammy telecasts are musical artists, with Andy Williams holding the record at seven, followed by John Denver with six and LL Cool J with five.
The Recording Academy shared the news on social media, stating, “@TrevorNoah is set to guide us through Music’s Biggest Night, celebrating music and showing support for the music community affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.”
The 67th annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 2 and will be held with a “renewed sense of purpose” after the recent wildfires in Los Angeles, the academy noted. This year’s event will focus on raising funds for wildlife relief efforts and honoring first responders who battled the flames.
Beyoncé leads the nominations with 11 nods for her country music debut album COWBOY CARTER, which was released on March 29, 2024.
Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone each earned seven nominations, while Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift are each up for six awards.
The event will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
