A Nigerian pastor, Angel Ameh Onuche, has sparked reactions after claiming that women exaggerate the pain associated with childbirth.
She made the comment in response to a post by a Nasarawa-based woman, Gift Strong, who shared her experience of pregnancy and the challenges that came with it.
Gift had posted a photo of herself and a friend attending a church vigil while they were both pregnant, recalling how exhausted and stressed they felt during that period.
She further revealed that a male friend once questioned why they wanted to have more children despite the difficulties associated with pregnancy.
Reacting to the post, the pastor downplayed the severity of labour pain, writing in the comment section: “That’s why I kept telling people that the pain of labour is always exaggerated.”
