The First Lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with her husband as he endeavors to improve the nation, emphasizing that he possesses no magical powers and will work diligently, step by step, to set Nigeria on the right course.
Mrs. Tinubu conveyed this message during the 2023 Independence Day thanksgiving service, which took place at an inter-denominational church in Abuja on Sunday, October. She affirmed her husband’s commitment to address the challenges without assigning blame to previous administrations, emphasizing his dedication to rebuilding the nation.
She expressed, “We just returned from the UNGA; it was a success for our nation. The world has its eyes on Nigeria, and investors are eager. We returned with positive news. All the issues we inherited date back many years. We are not here to point fingers at any administration but to rectify what has been broken. My husband is not a magician. He will labor diligently, brick by brick, and I believe and have hope that you will have faith in this administration. The best is yet to come.”
Continuing, Mrs. Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to look beyond their present circumstances and embrace renewed hope. She stressed that hope is crucial to becoming a part of the nation’s ongoing progress. She further emphasized the importance of good governance and the need for individuals to emulate the example of Jesus Christ in their lives, embodying qualities such as love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, and forgiveness as they contribute to the nation’s growth.
