The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily suspended access to the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates following the detection of technical issues during an internal review.
In a statement dated Thursday, August 7, and signed by Acting Head of Public Affairs Moyosola Adesina, WAEC explained that the glitch occurred after implementing a new paper serialisation system aimed at combating examination malpractice.
“As part of our efforts to curb examination malpractice, the Council introduced an innovation involving paper serialisation in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics,” WAEC stated.
However, a post-result review uncovered technical bugs affecting these subjects, leading to the temporary suspension of results access through the online portal. Candidates are advised to recheck their results within 24 hours.
