Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, has stated that Nigeria has the capacity to end insecurity within six months if the Federal Government shows strong political will and takes decisive steps.

Ndume made this remark during an interview on Channels Television on Monday, April 14.

He emphasized that tackling insecurity is not about complaints but about commitment—particularly in properly training, equipping, arming, and motivating the military.

“It is not about complaining. If the President and the Federal Government are serious about this, we can end this in six months. All we need is to train our soldiers, equip them properly, arm them effectively, and motivate them,” he said.

The senator also expressed concern over ongoing casualties among military personnel, including senior officers. He warned that repeated attacks on security forces point to deeper operational weaknesses that must be urgently addressed.
