Arsenal have completed the signing of Greece international Christos Tzolis on a long-term contract, the Premier League champions confirmed on Thursday, July 23.
The club did not disclose the transfer fee, but reports suggest the 24-year-old joined from Belgian side Club Brugge in a deal worth around £34 million ($45 million).
Tzolis is expected to fill the void left by Leandro Trossard following the Belgian’s recent move to Besiktas.
The Greek winger becomes Arsenal’s third permanent signing of the summer transfer window, arriving just days after the club missed out on Morgan Rogers, who completed a reported British-record £117 million ($157 million) move from Aston Villa to Chelsea.
Tzolis enjoyed an impressive spell at Club Brugge, scoring 43 goals in 108 appearances and helping the club win the Belgian league title last season. He also faced Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, where Brugge were beaten 3-0.
The winger previously played in England after joining Norwich City from PAOK Thessaloniki in 2021. During his time with the Canaries, he had loan spells at FC Twente in the Netherlands and Fortuna Düsseldorf in Germany before sealing a permanent move to Club Brugge in 2024.
Tzolis has made 34 appearances for the Greece national team.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta welcomed the signing, describing the winger as a versatile attacker with proven quality.
“Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player. He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.
“Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons. We’re confident Christos will make a significant contribution to our club, and we hope our supporters will enjoy watching him play in an Arsenal shirt,” Berta said.
