Relationship expert Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has confirmed the arrest of her fiancé, celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna (aka IVD), at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Friday, August 1.
IVD was reportedly apprehended by officials from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions while attempting to board a flight to Qatar alongside Blessing. His arrest is believed to be connected to his ongoing trial concerning the controversial death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, in October 2022.
Bimbo passed away following injuries sustained in a fire incident at their Lagos home, allegedly linked to a case of domestic violence. In response, the Lagos State Government filed a charge of involuntary manslaughter against IVD under suit number LD/21055C/23.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the court had previously placed a travel restriction on IVD pending the conclusion of the trial. However, Blessing has dismissed those claims.
In a statement posted on her Instagram page, she insisted that IVD is being “bullied and intimidated” and denied any knowledge of a court order barring him from leaving the country. “If such an order existed,” she said, “he wouldn’t have made his travel plans public.”
