uhu Ribadu has assumed the position of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), taking over from Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno (retd). In his official statement upon assuming office, Ribadu, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, expressed his commitment to meeting the expectations of Nigerians and ensuring the country’s security from all forms of threats.

Ribadu emphasized the importance of peace and the rule of law, stating that it is time for Nigeria to enjoy stability and order, just like any other country in the world. He acknowledged that securing the nation is an ongoing process and vowed to build upon the existing efforts in place. He also called for the support of all stakeholders in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Highlighting the dedication of President Bola Tinubu to securing every part of the country, Ribadu pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to achieve this vision. He emphasized that the task of securing Nigeria is a collective responsibility of all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria.

Ribadu’s appointment as Special Adviser on Security to President Bola Tinubu on June 15, 2023, was elevated to the position of National Security Adviser as part of a restructuring of the country’s security architecture, which resulted in the removal of the service chiefs.
