The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, has stated that the results of the upcoming governorship elections in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa states, which are scheduled for November 11, will be transmitted in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

Yakubu’s remarks came in response to the statement by the Bayelsa State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Obo Effanga, who had indicated that the election results in the state would be transmitted manually. While overseeing the mock accreditation exercise in Lokoja, Kogi State, as part of preparations for the impending polls, Yakubu emphasized, “Please disregard any statements made regarding the transmission of results.”

He further expressed his contentment with the election preparations but highlighted that security challenges remain a significant concern in Kogi.
