President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, November 6, reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism across Nigeria.
Speaking in Abuja, President Tinubu’s assurance came in apparent response to security concerns raised by former U.S. President Donald Trump. He emphasized that despite prevailing political challenges, Nigeria remains steadfast in its engagement with international partners.
The President’s remarks followed the swearing-in of two new ministers and a positive economic briefing from the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun.
According to Edun, Nigeria’s economy continues to show steady improvement, with the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanding by 4.23 percent in the second quarter of 2025 — the highest quarterly growth in a decade outside the post-COVID recovery period.
Reacting to the report, President Tinubu attributed the economic gains to Nigeria’s renewed focus and international engagement.
“The most important thing is that, despite political headwinds and public concerns, we will continue to work with our partners. The success of the $2.3 billion bond oversubscription is proof of global confidence in our economy. We are engaging the world diplomatically, and I assure everyone that we will defeat terrorism in our country,” he said.
President Tinubu concluded by reaffirming his administration’s determination to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda with unity, purpose, and resilience — to build a prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.
