Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has turned down a lucrative €75 million (₦135 billion) move to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, despite both clubs reaching an agreement on the transfer fee.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who shared the update via his X (formerly Twitter) account, “Despite agreement between club to club with Napoli for €75m fee, Osimhen says no to the Saudi Pro League club. Galatasaray will insist on signing him with the race now open again.”
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in outstanding form, scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances. His prolific performances have made him a fan favorite in Turkey, and the club remains determined to secure his services on a permanent deal.
Reports suggested that Al Hilal had already arranged a medical for the Nigerian forward after agreeing to Napoli’s demands. However, with Osimhen rejecting the move, his future remains uncertain, reigniting competition among several top clubs for his signature.
The Saudi side, managed by former Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi, was eager to have Osimhen join in time for the FIFA Club World Cup, set to begin on June 14. They reportedly offered him a staggering €30 million per season contract, but the 26-year-old forward ultimately declined the proposal.
