ADC is gone if Obi loses party’s presidential ticket – Fayose

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has warned that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could struggle in the 2027 presidential election if former candidate Peter Obi is not included on its ticket.

Fayose made the statement while also reviewing the performance of President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Sunday at the PDP national convention in Abuja, he offered a mixed assessment of Tinubu’s administration.

“I’m happy with what Asiwaju is doing. You don’t need to get everything right to be considered effective, but when you compare the past with the present, he is not doing well,” he said.

Addressing the opposition, Fayose emphasized that ADC’s electoral prospects are closely tied to Obi’s involvement.

“I’ve said it before—if Obi is not on the ADC ballot, then that’s the end of the party. It appears now that he may not be, and Atiku Abubakar could emerge as the candidate,” he stated.

He also expressed skepticism about Obi’s chances in the upcoming election.

“It would be difficult for him to return to the Labour Party. Obi is a good and capable man, but becoming president at this time will not be easy,” Fayose added.
