Aston Villa have completed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho on a season-long loan from Chelsea, the Premier League club confirmed on Thursday, July 23.
The Argentine winger becomes Villa’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window after the arrivals of Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Modou Keba Cisse, as Unai Emery continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
Villa manager Unai Emery expressed his delight at securing Garnacho’s signature, describing the 22-year-old as a talented player eager to contribute to the club’s project.
“We are delighted with Alejandro. He is so talented, young and he showed us his wish to help our project. We are really happy,” Emery said.
Garnacho’s move comes after reports earlier this month claimed new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso informed him that he would not be guaranteed regular first-team football at Stamford Bridge.
The winger departs Chelsea after a challenging first season following his transfer from Manchester United. He scored eight goals in 43 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign.
Chelsea, meanwhile, recently completed the club-record £117 million ($156 million) signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
