FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has vowed to make things difficult for African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and other opposition candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the remark on Friday, August 21, in Abuja while speaking to journalists during an inspection of infrastructure projects in the Federal Capital Territory.

The minister dismissed claims that the opposition currently has a strong political force, arguing that the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has weakened its position as the leading opposition party.

He said his priority was not to help opposition politicians succeed, adding that he intended to keep them under pressure ahead of the election.

“I don’t want them to feel well. My job is to make them feel unwell all day because they will have high blood pressure. I think that’s my job,” Wike said.

He added that he was not concerned about the opposition’s performance and would continue making things difficult for them.

“I’m not here to make them perform well. And that is what we are doing to them. So, we have to be patient,” he said.
