Newcastle Rejects Liverpool’s £110 Million Bid for Striker Alexander Isak

Newcastle United have turned down a formal £110 million offer from Liverpool for striker Alexander Isak, who is reportedly eager to leave the club this summer.

The bid falls well short of Newcastle’s £150 million valuation—an amount they consider the minimum to even begin talks. Despite Isak’s desire for a move, the club has maintained a firm “not for sale” stance publicly.

The Sweden international, who still has three years remaining on his contract, has been left out of Newcastle’s pre-season squad and is currently training alone at his former club, Real Sociedad, as speculation over his future intensifies.

Newcastle’s recent acceleration in their search for a new striker suggests they may be preparing for Isak’s eventual departure—but only once a suitable replacement is secured.

Liverpool made the approach just weeks after completing a £100 million move for German midfielder Florian Wirtz. Isak has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Merseyside club and is said to be keen on a move to Anfield, despite interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

Newcastle are believed to be holding out for a British-record transfer fee, valuing Isak at over £150 million. The 24-year-old has scored 54 Premier League goals over the past three seasons, establishing himself as one of the league’s most prolific forwards.

Following the departure of Luis Díaz in a deal worth up to €75 million, Liverpool are expected to return with an improved offer.
