Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the 2025 PFA Men’s Player of the Year, becoming the first player in history to win the award three times.
The 33-year-old Egypt international enjoyed a remarkable 2024/25 season, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists as Arne Slot’s side powered to the Premier League title. His outstanding performances saw him dominate the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) voting, earning widespread recognition from his peers.
This latest accolade adds to an already glittering season for Salah, who also picked up the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award earlier in the year—matching the record of three wins in that category as well.
Reflecting on his journey, Salah said:
“Of course I wanted to be a football player and I wanted to be famous and provide for my family, but you don’t think about the big stuff when you’re still in Egypt. When you grow, you start to see things differently—you start to have ambition and see the bigger picture.”
Salah’s individual brilliance was a driving force behind Liverpool’s title charge, and his contributions earned him a place in the 2024/25 PFA Premier League Team of the Year alongside four of his teammates: Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and new signing Milos Kerkez.
Arsenal were also well represented, with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and Declan Rice making the cut. However, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes were notable omissions from the final XI, despite being shortlisted for the main award.
Salah’s achievement cements his status as one of the Premier League’s all-time greats and a modern legend at Liverpool.
